TrueCaller has vast dictionary of more than 800,779,063 telephone numbers and their users. After Installing TrueCaller you have to select the country you belong to. After that the TrueCaller runs in background. Each time you receive a call or message you get the name of person who is calling or messaging you, telecom circle the person belongs to, the network the person is using and country.
TrueCaller has a built-in caller blocker which blocks calls from your personal blacklist and also from community blacklist. TrueCaller allows you to connect to your Facebook, LinkedIn and twitter account. So when your friends call , you can easily access their Facebook status and photos.

How Does TrueCaller Get all the data?
TrueCaller sources the data by partnering with various white and yellow pages avaliable globally. Also TrueCaller provides an option of Enhanced Search which allows users to upload their entire contacts on TrueCaller server. However TrueCaller has privacy issues. When you do Enhanced Search you agree that you have no problem sharing your contacts with TrueCaller server. So even if you uninstall the app your number will be unlisted from TrueCaller server but your contacts are still present on TrueCaller server.
If you find your number on TrueCaller and are not comfortable sharing your details you can Unlist your number.
