Seesmic review

If you are a twitterati and want to see what people are tweeting or stay connected on Facebook then this app is for you. Seesmic developed by French entrepreneur Loic Le Meur is a social networking tool for integrating websites like Twitter and Facebook over a range of suites like desktop, mobile and website. One using twitter apps on smart phones like tweetdeck and twitter for mobile will find Seesmic very rich in user interface.

How this app works:-

While creating a Seesmic account, you're first asked to sign onto your Twitter account to authorize the app to access your tweets. Once authorized, you are directed back to the Seesmic and all your personal information like your tweets, people you follow and followers is uploaded.  The user interface and overall feel of Seesmic is simple yet elegant.

With Seesmic you can re-tweet(with comment too), send a direct message, mark tweet as favourite or update status, like someone`s post on Facebook or comment on it. Seesmic has separate tabs on home screen for replies and direct messages. Also if you find certain words or users offensive you can mute them and remove them from your timeline. You can share pictures using Instagram, Twitpic, MobyPicture, yFrog or Lockerz The most striking feature that I found useful was the ability of the user to control background updates (time interval in which your timeline will be refreshed), inbuilt option to use twitLonger for tweets longer than 140 characters and also option to shorten the URL you are going to post.

Problems or bugs:-

Even though Seesmic supports Indian languages there are some issues while displaying them on mobile phones which need to be rectified.

Availability:-

Seesmic is available for free on Google play ,Apple`s App store, Blackberry`s app world and Nokia`s OVI store. The ad- free version for android is available for Rs 156.91 or $2.99.

Recommendation :-

Seesmic is good to download if you want to stay connected on twitter 24/7.
